Head Coach /Outfielders - Eric Gough

Coach Gough graduated in 1992 from Francis Howell High School.  He played outfield and first base and was a part of the 1991 State Final Four team.  Coach Gough played two years at Quincy College before hanging up the cleats and transferring to Mizzou, where he graduated in 1996.  He taught at Hickman High School in Columbia where he coached on the JV staff in 1997 and the Varsity staff in 1998 and 1999.  Coach Gough came to Fort Zumwalt West for the 2000 season and was the Varsity Assistant for four years.  He coached the Freshmen team in 2004 and 2005 and then took three years away from baseball to be an Assistant Principal at South High.  Coach Gough rejoined the Jaguar staff as the Freshmen coach for the 2009 season and took over as the head coach in 2010.



Varsity Assistant/Catchers - Ryan Oetting

Coach Oetting graduated in 1997 from St. Charles High School.  He was a three year starter at catcher and played in State Final Fours in 1996 and 1997.  He caught collegiately at St. Charles Community College in 1998 and 1999 and then played at Central Methodist College for the 2000 and 2001 seasons as a catcher and first baseman.  Coach Oetting was  a volunteer coach at Francis Howell High School from 2003 to 2005 where he was part of the 2003 State Championship.  He joined the staff at Fort Zumwalt West in 2006 as the Freshmen coach.  He led the JV team in 2007 and 2008 before moving to Varsity Assistant for the 2009 season.


Varsity Assistant/JV Head Coach/Middle Infielders - Matt Sissom

Coach Sissom grauated in 1996 from Hazelwood Central High School where was the starting shortstop.  He played the same position at Lewis and Clark Community College during 1997 and 1998 before transferring to Central Methodist College.  He played middle infield at Central Methodist for the 1999 and 2000 seasons.  Coach Sissom stayed at Central Methodist for the 2001 and 2002 seasons as the JV coach and Varsity Assistant.  He went to Harris-Stowe State College and was an assistant during the 2003 and 2004 seasons coaching infielders and hitters.  He joined the Fort Zumwalt West staff in 2006 as a volunteer at the freshmen level.  Coach Sissom became the Freshmen coach in 2007 and moved up to the JV level in 2009.



Varsity Assistant/Corner Infielders - Greg Rodgers

Coach Rodgers graduated in 2003 from Francis Howell High School.  He was a four year starter at third base and captain of the 2003 Class 4 State Championship team.  He played first and third base at St. Charles Community College in 2004 and sat out 2005 with a medical redshirt.  Coach Rodgers played first base at St. Louis University for three seasons, 2006-08.  He was part of the Atlantic 10 Conference Championship team of 2006.  Coach Rodgers joined the Fort Zumwalt staff midway into the 2010 season as a volunteer assistant at the varsity level.


Varsity Assistant/Pitchers - Mike McMullen

Coach McMullen graduated in 1991 from John F. Kennedy in Granada Hills, CA.  He pitched for two years at Glendale Community College in Glendale, CA and then was drafted in the 14th round by the San Francisco Giants in 1993.  Coach McMullen spent nine seasons in the Giants organization before finishing out with the Minnesota Twins.  He played at each level in the minor leagues and the last four full seasons in the Triple A Pacific Coast League pitching for Fresno.  Highlights of his professional career include 1998 Texas League (Double A) Reliever of the Year and All Star, 1998 Arizona Fall League Top Prospect for the Giants, and three seasons in big league camp (1999-2001) with the Giants and Twins.  Coach McMullen hung up the cleats in 2001 and moved to O'Fallon to be closer to his family.  He continued his athletic career playing quarterback in 2004 for the Show-Me Believers and in 2008 for the River City Rage.  Coach McMullen joined the Fort Zumwalt West staff in 2011 as the pitching coach.


Head Freshmen Coach/Pitchers & Catchers - Brian Speas

Coach Speas graduated in 1983 from Union-Whitten Community High School in Union, Iowa.  He played second base at Grand View University in Des Moines and was voted the team MVP in the 1988 season when his team finished one game away from the NAIA World Series.  Coach Speas managed a summer collegiate league team from 1986 to 1989.  He was a director of instruction at Speas Sports Baseball and Softball Adademy from 1989 to 1991.  He has also been an instructor at Baseball Schools USA in Chicago, Illinois and Billy Williams Professional Baseball Academy in Donaldson, Indiana.  Coach Speas served as the hitting instructor for the River City Rascals from 2007 to 2009 and was an advanced scout in 2010.  Coach Speas joined the Fort Zumwalt West staff in the 2009 season as a voluteer at the freshmen level.  He took over the  Freshmen level for in 2010.


Assistant Freshmen Coach/Outfielders - Drew Speigel

Coach Speigel graduated in 2003 from Webster Groves High School.  He spent most of his days playing third base and outfield.  Coach Spiegel hung up the cleats to attend Truman State University.  He began coaching summer and fall youth baseball in 2007 while attending TSU.  Coach Speigel graduated from Truman State in 2009 with his Masters in Education.  He is joined the Fort Zumwalt West staff for the 2010 season as a freshmen assistant.
